可迅速減輕發癢和其他不舒服的症狀, 不過, 這只適用於念珠菌引起的陰道炎.
沒藥對牙齦很有益處, 可以迅速治療口腔潰瘍和牙齦問題. 許多品牌的牙膏中都添加了沒藥的成分, 它用作按摩油或使用蒸汽吸入法,
可以減少過多黏液, 很適合治療胸腔感染、鼻喉黏膜炎、慢性支氣管炎、感冒和喉嚨痛. 亦是優良的肺部殺菌劑、袪痰劑和收斂劑.
但使用沒藥來洗芳香浴效果較差, 因為它非常難溶於水, 就算用油溶劑都不易溶解. 沒藥有調順整個消化系統和刺激胃部的功效,

沒藥是粗糙而多刺的小樹, 樹幹上自然的裂口或人工的切口會流出液狀的樹脂, 這些樹脂會凝固成不規則狀的棕紅色塊狀物.
經由蒸餾法就可獲得精油. 在芳香療法中所用的沒藥多半是用溶劑直接萃取生樹脂而得. 沒藥精油的顏色從淺到深的琥珀色都有.
精油中的有效成份包括檸檬烯, 雙戊烯, 松油萜, 丁香酚, 肉桂醛, 杜松萜烯, 醋酸,
沒藥酸和各類樹脂. 它的樹脂和精油都具有溫熱而微苦的煙味, 而且非常黏稠厚重. 適合配合的精油有乳香, 薰衣草, 玫瑰草,
廣藿香, 玫瑰, 花梨木, 檀香, 茶樹和百里香等. 屬中揮發度精油.
使用禁忌: 懷孕時不能使用沒藥.
【精油使用注意事项】
1、怀孕初期几个月内以及小孩最好避免使用精油来按摩或泡澡。
2、皮肤或体质敏感者，请在使用前先进行敏感测试。
3、除少部分精油，如薰衣草、茶树等可直接涂抹于皮肤外，其它大部分精油用于身体肌肤时，必须稀释或用基础油调和后才能使用，除非有其它特别的建议。
4、肌肤上使用柑橘类精油（如佛手柑、柠檬等）后四小时内请勿在阳光下曝晒。
5、精油不能取代药物。因此，使用后如症状未改善，请一定要看病就医，绝不可因使用精油而放弃原先已在使用的药物。
6、患有高低血压、癫痫、神经及肾脏方面疾病的病人请小心使用。使用前最好先请教芳香治疗师。
7、请按建议量使用。使用过量会导致反效果，甚至对身体造成过大负担。
8、请避免小孩直接碰触，以免误用而发生危险。
9、避免用塑料、易溶解或油彩表面的容器，稀释精油时需使用玻璃、不锈钢或陶瓷器。
10、精油最好不要内服，除非获得芳香治疗师或医师的指示 .
【精油的保存方法】
1、品质精良的精油，必定是使用深色玻璃瓶装，常用深蓝色或深棕色，可防止紫外线。
2、放置于阴凉处，避免阳光直射。但不必存放于冰箱。
3、将瓶口直立向上放置，不用时将瓶盖拧紧。

Myrrh
Commiphora
myrrha is a tree in the Burseraceae family. It is one of the
primary trees used in the production of myrrh, a resin made
from dried tree sap. The tree is native to the Arabian peninsula
(Oman, Yemen) and to Africa (Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia,
Northeast Kenya).
Though
classified as shrubs, Myrrh can grow up to 10 Meters in height.
Native collectors make incisions into the trees in order to
increase the yield.
Myrrh
has been used for centuries as an ingredient in incense, perfumes,
and for embalming and fumigations in Ancient Egypt. In folk
tradition it was used for muscular pains and in rheumatic
plasters. Called mo yao in China, it has been used since at
least 600B.C. primarily as a wound herb and blood stimulant.

Myrrh oil, distilled from the resin, has been used since ancient
Greek times to heal wounds.

astringent and healing, tonic and stimulant, carminative,
stomachic, anticatarrhal, expectorant, diaphoretic, vulnerary,
locally antiseptic, immune stimulant, bitter, circulatory
stimulant, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic.
