絲柏有很好的收歛效果, 凡是水腫, 大小便失禁所引起的體液過多或牙齒出血, 膽囊疼痛以及經血過多等疾病, 都可以用絲柏治療. 它還可治療油性或多汗性皮膚. 男士用的刮鬍後潤膚水中, 經常會添加絲柏精油以達到抗菌和收斂的效果. 而絲柏的良好氣味, 也能增添產品的香氣. 將絲柏精油當作局部清潔液, 或使用含有絲柏成份的軟膏, 都對痔瘡非常有幫助, 因為痔瘡是體液循環不良所引起, 絲柏正有調順循環的功能. 此外, 絲柏還可治療靜脈曲張, 只要將精油或乳霜輕輕塗抹在患處並持續使用.

Common uses: Cypress has been known to have astringent and antiseptic properties and has traditionally been used  for excessive perspiration.

Easing the mind:

• to help to cope with life's transitions, such as leaving home or starting a new job, vaporize 2 drops Cypress and 4 drops Lemon.
  
• to calm overstretched emotions, take a bath with 2 drops Cypress and 4 drops Lavender;
  

 

Healing the body:

• to ease spasms in overworked and tired muscles, mix Cypress, Ginger and Sweet Marjoram in a carrier oil and apply it to the sore areas.
• to remove toxins from muscles and reduce cellulite, blend Cypress with Grapefruit and Juniper Berry in a carrier oil and rub it into the affected parts.
• to cleanse oily skins, and to heal acne, add 4 drops Cypress, 2 drops Manuka and 4 drops Orange leaf to 20g/ 4 tsp Skin Mousse and apply it to your face.
